FCoV is the virus that causes feline infectious inflammatory disease (FIP). FCoV may or may not develop into FIP. After FCoV mutates in a cat, it will infect the white blood cells, and spreads to other organs, leading to severe inflammation and fluid buildup, then becomes into FIP. GS-441 is an antiviral medication, it blocks FCoV replication, it could reduce the viral load in the body, and repaire damaged tissue. GS441 vials is subcutaneous injections, after use GS441 vials, the cat's condition usually shows significant improvement within 5 to 10 days. Most cats could recover after completing an 84-day treatment course. Compared to 20 mg/ml vials, the 30 mg/ml is more concentrated. It has a faster onset of action. So the 30 mg/ml injection is more suitable for cats with severe cases.

1. Which kind of cats are more suited to 30mg/ml vials?
The strength of 30mg/ml 7ml vials is higher than 20mg/ml vials, it is suitable for moderate to severe FIP, especially neurological or ocular FIP. It could achieve better effect under a small injection volume, and the absorption rate is more quickly.
2. How long is treatment?
In general, the typical treatment is 84 days. In some situation, your vet need adjust according to your cat’s condition.

3. What should be noted during use?

Precautions for injection
(1) Injection method.
Subcutaneous injection, 0.3mm fine needle is recommended.
(3) Choose the right injection site.
Find a piece of loose skin. Generally speaking, the skin between the neck and back of a cat is the most loose skin.
(3) Give your cat drinks enough water.
Enough water is important for cats, as severe dehydration may prevent the absorption of GS441. If you are unsure whether your cat is dehydrated, please consult your veterinarian, they may give you some advice.
(4) Inject medicine.
If you find the blood or liquid coming out of the injection site, please use a clean cotton ball to gently press the injection site, until the secretion stops.
The time is about only take one minute, don’t let your cat move during this time.
(5) Correctly dispose of used needles.
Do not put uncovered needles in the trash can, as this may cause infection to people.
